Early Life
Roberts grew up in Georgia and moved to New York City to pursue acting after high school, following her older brother Eric Roberts.
Career
She rose to stardom with Pretty Woman (1990), earning an Oscar nomination, and went on to star in Steel Magnolias, Notting Hill, My Best Friend's Wedding and Ocean's Eleven. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for Erin Brockovich (2000).
Legacy
Roberts was among the first actresses paid $20 million for a single film, for Erin Brockovich. She later appeared in the series Gaslit (2022) and the film Leave the World Behind (2023).
