Early Life
DiCaprio began acting as a child in commercials and television, then earned an Oscar nomination at 19 for What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993).
Career
He became a global star in Titanic (1997) and later worked repeatedly with the director Martin Scorsese on Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed, The Wolf of Wall Street and Killers of the Flower Moon (2023). He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for The Revenant (2015) and starred in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019).
Legacy
DiCaprio founded the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation in 1998 and has been a prominent voice on climate change, including as a United Nations Messenger of Peace since 2014.
