Early Life
Born Diane Hall, she took her mother's maiden name, Keaton, professionally and trained at New York's Neighborhood Playhouse.
Career
She played Kay Adams in The Godfather (1972) and its sequels, and won the Academy Award for Best Actress for Annie Hall (1977). Other notable films include Reds, Baby Boom, Father of the Bride, The First Wives Club and Something's Gotta Give (2003). She also directed, including the film Heaven (1987).
Legacy
Keaton wrote a memoir, Then Again (2011), and was widely admired for her menswear-inspired fashion. She died in October 2025 at age 79.
